About the Company
A Flooring Company That's Been Earning Its Reputation Since 2006
Romero Hardwood Floors isn't a franchise or a large crew operation where you never meet the person doing the work. It's Francisco Romero-Ibarra's business — built job by job over nearly 20 years across Greater Boston and the North Shore.
The company is MA Licensed and Insured, operates with dustless sanding equipment that keeps your home clean during the job, and offers eco-friendly finishing options that are safe for families and pets. Every estimate is free. Every job ends with a walkthrough where we confirm you're satisfied before the final check is signed.
About the Owner
Francisco Romero-Ibarra — Owner, Lead Installer
Francisco started Romero Hardwood Floors in 2006 with one goal: do the kind of flooring work he'd want done in his own home. That hasn't changed.
He's on every job. Not managing from an office while a crew handles the details — actually there, doing the work, answering your questions, and making sure the finished floor is exactly what you hired him for. More than 20 years of hands-on experience means he's seen the problems other contractors miss and knows how to solve them before they become your problem. Francisco is also bilingual in English and Spanish — an important detail for many homeowners across Revere, Lynn, Chelsea, and East Boston who prefer to talk through their project in Spanish.

Our Service Area
Areas Rooted in Revere. Working All Across Greater Boston.
Romero Hardwood Floors is centrally located in Revere, MA, which means we're not driving in from two counties away and rushing through jobs to beat traffic. We know these neighborhoods. We've worked in the triple-deckers in East Boston, the older colonials in Peabody, the newer builds in Newton, and the historic homes along the North Shore. Greater Boston and the North Shore are full of houses with remarkable original hardwood floors hiding under decades of carpet and old finish. We've seen it hundreds of times, and there's nothing quite like pulling back that carpet and finding solid oak that just needs the right hands to restore it.
Areas We Serve
Massachusetts - Greater Boston & North Shore
New Hampshire - Southern, NH
Don't see your city? Call (617) 913-0155 or submit an estimate request. Romero Hardwood Floors serves communities beyond this list and can confirm if your address falls within the service territory.

Frequently Asked Questions
Flooring Questions & Answers for Homeowners in Greater Boston
The short answer: most solid hardwood floors can be refinished multiple times over their lifetime, as long as enough material remains above the tongue-and-groove to sand down safely. Engineered hardwood can typically be refinished once or twice depending on the thickness of the wear layer. Francisco will assess your floors during the free in-home estimate and give you an honest answer — refinishing is almost always less expensive than replacement, and the results can be dramatic. If replacement is the better option for your situation, he'll tell you that too.
Traditional floor sanding uses drum or belt sanders that send fine hardwood dust into the air throughout your home — coating furniture, getting into HVAC systems, and requiring significant cleanup after the job. Romero's dustless sanding system uses specialized equipment that captures that dust at the source through a high-powered vacuum system. Your furniture stays clean, your air quality isn't compromised, and cleanup after the job is minimal. For homeowners with children, pets, or allergies, it's not just a convenience — it's a meaningful difference.
Yes. Romero Hardwood Floors offers eco-friendly, low-VOC finishing options that dramatically reduce the amount of volatile organic compounds off-gassed into your home during and after the finishing process. These products cure faster and produce fewer fumes than traditional oil-based finishes. Francisco will walk you through your finish options during the estimate so you can choose what's right for your household.
It depends on the scope. A standard refinishing job on a single floor of a home typically takes 2–4 days from sanding through final coat cure time. New installation projects vary based on square footage, subfloor prep requirements, and whether stairs or complex patterns are involved. Francisco will give you a realistic timeline during the estimate — and he sticks to it.
Yes. Romero Hardwood Floors serves homeowners in key communities throughout Southern New Hampshire, including Nashua, Manchester, Salem NH, Derry, Londonderry, Bedford, and surrounding areas. The same licensed, insured, dustless-sanding standard applies to every NH job — no difference in quality based on which state you're in.
Yes. Francisco holds a MA Home Improvement Contractor License (HIC 201133) and a MA Construction Supervisor License — Unrestricted (CS115759). Both are current and active. Every job is fully insured. You can verify both licenses through the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
Yes. Every completed job is backed by a 1-year conditional warranty on workmanship. If there's a defect in the installation or service itself — not normal wear and tear or damage from other causes — it gets corrected at no cost to you. Francisco will walk you through the warranty terms during the estimate.
In addition to solid and engineered hardwood, Romero installs laminate, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), and tile. Francisco also specializes in custom pattern installation — herringbone, chevron, parquet, and inlays — for homeowners looking for something beyond a standard straight-lay floor. If you've seen a floor you love and want to know if it's achievable in your home, bring the photo to the estimate conversation.
Both. For homeowners who want to tackle a larger renovation, Romero Hardwood Floors offers full bathroom and kitchen remodeling — demo through finish. It's the same owner, the same standard of care, and the convenience of one contractor managing the whole project instead of coordinating between two or three.
Call (617) 913-0155 or use the contact form to request a free in-home estimate. Francisco will reach out promptly to schedule a time that works for you. There's no commitment required to get the estimate, no pressure to move forward on the spot, and no fee for the visit.
